The Young Lady’s Heart Skips a Beat
Ji Yunchu, originally the Li family’s seventh child, was stolen at birth and raised by the Ji family, with a younger sister Ji Jiaojiao. At 7, when Jiaojiao was abducted, Yunchu got lost while searching and met Lu Shiyuan. They became sworn friends, exchanging a pair of pendants, but he left abruptly due to a family crisis, breaking his promise. At 15, Yunchu saved a critically injured, amnesiac Lu Shiyuan, who carried an ID under "Gu Shen." She took him in, and he became her bodyguard for a decade—protecting her, aiding her rise to head the Ji Group, and mastering diverse skills. Yunchu relied on him but cherished memories of Lu Shiyuan, resenting his absence. Forced into an arranged marriage with Pei Xin, she learned Jiaojiao had an affair with him. At the wedding, Yunchu exposed them to draw Lu Shiyuan’s attention. When her parents asked her to sacrifice the wedding for Jiaojiao, she furiously sought a groom on the spot. Gu Shen, secretly in love and aware of his Lu family roots, stayed by her side, fearing she’d marry another. Three elites vied for her hand; with Gu Shen’s help, Yunchu outperformed them in contests, deepening their bond, though she clung to childhood Lu Shiyuan. After Gu Shen uncovered her Li bloodline, the Ji family hunted him. Yunchu, teaming with the three elites, retaliated against the Ji and Pei families, only to find Gu Shen taken by the Lu family. Her true identity revealed, she returned to the Li family as a cherished princess. Unhappy despite her status, Yunchu realized her childhood obsession had faded, her mind filled with Gu Shen. She searched frantically, and Lu Shiyuan (regained memory) found her. She confessed, taking out the pendant to let go of the past. Lu Shiyuan realized he was the one she’d waited for, memories flooded back, and they reconciled, with Yunchu realizing he’d always been by her side.
